City officials are asking people in San Marcos to help report water theft from the city's fire hydrants. Specifically, they say to watch for commercial vehicles drawing water directly from hydrants without a temporary water meter installed.

As I sat in on Tuesday's Redbird Migration at SkyPort in San Marcos, Texas, I heard speaker after speaker talk about the future of aviation being closely related to the future of aviation technology. High on everyone's list of priorities was finding new ways to reach pilots-to-be, and Redbird Chairman Craig Fuller and EAA Chairman and CEO Jack Pelton both praised the Flying Challenge Cup , the event that Flying and Redbird Flight Simulations partnered on at AirVenture last year.

The San Marcos-Hays County SWAT team arrested two suspects in a burglary attempt on a mobile home Sunday night. The suspects, Isaiah Alexander Rubio and a 16-year-old male, are residents of San Marcos.

Candidates for City Council Place 3 and 4 and those running for mayor discussed the future of San Marcos Monday night at a debate hosted by the University Star and KTSW 89.9. Jane Hughson, City Council Place 4 candidate, spoke without an opponent. Her rival, Councilman Wayne Becak, Place 4, was unable to attend the debate.

Authorities have declined to charge two boys after a BB gun fired aboard a Central Texas school bus left two other students and the driver slightly hurt. The Hays County Sheriff's Office says a 10-year-old boy who had the gun did not aim at anyone.

The Hays County Commissioners Court allocated $175,000 from the 2015 fiscal year budget to be divided among the Hays County Constables for new vehicles and equipment but denied a request for additional funding. The allocation was divided among the five precincts with each receiving $35,000, said Constable Ron Hood, Precinct 4. The money will be used to purchase new vehicles for the aging vehicle fleets.
